IMPORTANT NOTE FOR EXISTING CUSTOMERS:

1. Version 18 (2018), 19 (2019) and later licenses of Si8000m, Si9000e and Speedstack are incompatible with 2017 and below releases
   
   
2. Plan to move all installed field solver based products at the same time (Si8000m / Si9000e / Speedstack)
   
   
3. All users on floating licenses must be upgraded simultaneously
   

Updated Si8000m, Si9000e and Speedstack file formats

Before updating to v18.03 or later please be aware that the Si8, Si9, SIP, STK and SCI file formats have been updated. Si8000m, Si9000e and Speedstack files saved with v18.03 or later will not load into earlier versions of the products. Speedstack 2019 library files are updated to include loss tangent information.

Ensure all database files, stackup, project and material library files are backed up to a safe location.

Incompatibility error messages

Error messages due to version incompatibility are shown below.

Si8000m, Si9000e, Speedstack 2018 v18.03 or later software with a 2017 license file

Si8000m, Si9000e, Speedstack 2017 software with a 2018 or later license file

2017 or earlier applications will not run with a 2018 or later license file and may result in the startup error (Run-time error '13') message below.

Incompatible combinations of licenses and software versions may result in the field solver interface displaying incorrectly as a ghost image:

  ** IMPORTANT NOTE. Because a version 2018 or later license will not function with 2017 releases or below, once on Speedstack / Si8000m / Si9000e version 2018 and above, if for any reason you need to go back to a 2017 edition it will be necessary to downgrade the FLEXlm license to a version 2017 license.
