Migrating workbooks from Si Excel to Si Excel x64

(Polar recommends 32 bit Si Excel unless your Company/IT Department mandates 64 bit Excel)

Workbooks with links to Si Excel (32 bit version) require minor adjustment to the Data Links for them to work with the new Si Excel x64.

The formulae need to be amended to reflect the new SiExcelExpert64 application as per the following:-

(Note how in the second image the formulae only shows the SiExcelExpert64 name and no path as the SiExcelExpert64 workbook is already open)

Follow through this example to find out one way to achieve this task:

This example assumes that :-

• The local installation of SiExcel & SiExcelExpert (32 bit) has been uninstalled
• A new installation of SiExcel64 & SiExcelExpert64 has been installed

Firstly open the SiExcelExpert64 workbook

Now open one of the workbooks with links to the old SiExcelExpert application

Excel will prompt to "Update" | " Don't Update" the workbook - select Don't Update

In Excel - select the Data (tab) | Edit Links

Select Edit Links |Change Source

Navigate to where SiExcelExpert64 is installed e.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Polar\SiExcelx64\SiExcelExpertx64.xlsm"

Select the file then click OK

Check in Edit Links that the Source has been updated to SiExcelExpert64 then select Close

Now Save and Re-calculate your workbook.
