This repeatability is ensured as the RITS measurement system self verifies automatically to an internal standard every few minutes. Air lines are the definitive standard for impedance calibration. Polar Instruments uses 30cm 28 Ohm, 50 Ohm, 75 Ohm and 100 Ohm air lines as reference standards. Our factory lines are traceable to NIST or NPL.  Airlines are included on the test table to facilitate closed loop verification — the RITS regularly checks the lines to check the overall measurement accuracy is within specified limits. The RITS500s is able to place the IP series controlled impedance test head probes with a high degree of accuracy — RITS minimum step resolution of just half a mil (0.0005") ensures accurate placement on the finest of land patterns. RAMBUS™  RIMM module test You can use the RITS500s as a turn-key solution for volume test of Rambus RIMM pcbs and continuity modules.  To produce Rambus PCBs with high yields you will need to control impedance more tightly than ever before. The increased memory speeds of the Rambus channel PC motherboards and memory components indicate that with current specifications it is essential to test impedance to a tolerance of ±2.8 ohms. The RITS500s includes industry standard Polar CITS Controlled impedance measurement technology in its latest revision which includes multi point calibration. For Rambus applications the RITS500s is calibrated with a bespoke 28 Ohm air line.
